We are an enthusiastic church and our Sunday meetings have a contemporary feel, with modern music and congregational participation, seeking to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. Bible teaching is always a key ingredient of our meetings together and we also provide children's and youth programmes to run alongside those for adults. Here is a breakdown of what you might expect on a Sunday morning…
We serve a God who is worthy of worship and praise, and typically we start our Sunday morning meetings with 30 minutes of sung worship lead by our worship band. The songs are a mix of old and new, played in a contemporary way, and the words are projected onto a screen. The purpose of this time is to lift God up in praise, to express our love, gratitude and thankfulness to Him for all He has done for us. When we focus on God, we remove our eyes from our own problems, and we end up being encouraged in the process.
"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord."
Gernerally the last portion of a Sunday morning meeting is dedicated to the study of God's Word, the Bible, in the form of a 30-40 minute talk (see 'Sermons' for past-recorded messages). The purpose of this time is for instruction in the Word of God with the goal of making it applicable to our daily lives. During this time the children have their club and a creché is provided for parents/guardians with very young children (see 'Children's works' for more information). Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits are served at the end of the meeting where people can stay and chat.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
